Jebel Ali Port Expansion Project - 2001

Project Engineer for the expansion of Jebel Ali Port from 2.4MTeu to 5MTeu

Based in Dubai for 8 weeks, undertaking data collection from DPA databases, conducting staff interviews and recording operational behaviours within the Container Terminal.

Conducted simulation modelling of terminal operations, highlighting bottlenecks in operations, both procedural and structural.

Design management of multiple expansion options for short term expansion of the container terminal prior to offshore development outside existing harbour.

Birmingham Airport Road Tunnel Site Investigation - 2001

Engineer's Representative supervising the site investigations for the proposed A45 road tunnel south of Birmingham Airport.


Monitoring drilling and shell and auger boring, when drilling recovery indicated it was uneconomic to continue using that methodology, I re-planned the works to adopt only shell and auger, saving approximately 10% of the investigation budget.
